A typical stump grinder incorporates a cutter wheel with fixed carbide teeth. The cutter wheel movements are controlled by hydraulic cylinders to push the cutter head laterally through the stump and to raise and lower it.
Chapin Services utilizes a three section safety guard that surrounds the grinding site and keeps dangerous debris from being ejected at high speed.
All grinding is performed according to Best Practices and ANSI standards.
Grinding to a depth of approx. 6inches (depending on site conditions) and removal of the excess grindings, leaving the hole filled, level to the existing grade*.

Stump grinding is done with the use of a very powerful, and potentially dangerous machine for the purpose of completly removing what is left after the tree has been removed.
